I was named a Texas Super Lawyer - Rising Star for the second year in a row. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state receive this honor each year.
The selections for this esteemed list are made by the research team at Super Lawyers, which is a service of Thomson Reuters. Each year, the research team at Super Lawyers undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, individual surveys of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area and a good-standing and disciplinary check.

Important Decision for Workers' Compensation by Texas Supreme Court
From a Director at my firm:
"It's official. No cause of action for bad faith exists for denial of a Texas Workers' Compensation claim. The Texas Supreme Court withdrew its earlier opinion in the Ruttiger v. TMIC case and issued the opinion at the link above. In dicta, the Supreme Court did leave intact a cause of action against an insurance carrier for misrepresentation of an insurance policy."
The decision can be found at:

Employment Law - Supreme Court Decision
An associate in my office, Shannon Snider, sent me this blog post, noting the following:
"[The Supreme Court] clarified whether pharmaceutical sales representatives fall within the 'outside sales representative' exception to the FLSA's overtime pay provisions. The Court held that they are considered 'exempt' and further clarified the often disputed 'outside sales representative' exemption category."
